    The Integrity Commission said in a statement issued today, and received Alsumaria News, a copy of it, "the countries of the world and anti-corruption institutions participated in the celebration of the International Day to Combat Corruption," indicating that "held a major celebration of the occasion attended by a number of public inspectors and general directors of the Commission, Faculties, professors, civic activists and anti-corruption specialists. "


    "While countries, anti-corruption institutions and activists around the world are celebrating this day by presenting their achievements and projects aimed at reducing the course of corruption, it did not indicate progress according to international reports," the statement quoted the head of the panel, Judge Ezzat Tawfiq Jafar, as saying during the ceremony. Pointing out that "the cost of corruption amounted to 2.6 trillion dollars, which means that this pest consumes 5% of the world gross product." 

    According to the statement, "the Chairman of the Commission highlighted the most important challenges facing the work of the national regulatory system," referring to "the calls of some on the abolition of one of the national regulatory bodies, calling the owners of those calls to the need to examine the technical reports issued by the specialized bodies, asking them to stand on the opinion Competent bodies, so that their calls are based on scientific and objective grounds. "

    He also warned of "the seriousness of corruption and its great effects on the entity and security of the state and stability and opportunities for development and investment therein." He explained that "the scourge of corruption has become a danger that affects many joints of the state and a tool to fight individuals and entities based on the dissemination of the values ​​of integrity and the fight against corruption." 

    He called on the Chairman of the Integrity Commission to "combine the efforts of the organs of the state, each according to its role and responsibilities in the fight against corruption; as this project is a draft state and not the project of a specific party." 

    He pointed out that "to elevate the country to the ranks of the highest ranking in integrity and to achieve the goals and objectives, depends on the existence of a real and serious will to combat corruption." 

    The event, which was organized by the Department of Education and Public Relations of the Authority, included a presentation of "Spotts" and documentary films on the work of the Commission and its activities at the local and international levels.
