    Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals for Planning and Agency Mohamed Ali Diab, on Thursday, the importance of supporting the private sector and the establishment of small and medium enterprises and investment opportunities available and announced by the companies of the ministry. 
    "The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals for Planning Affairs, Mohammed Ali Diab, met with the US Economic Attaché and the Brazilian Economic Attaché the means of possible support for the development of the Iraqi industrial sector," a ministry statement said.
    He added that the meeting also discussed topics of interest to the investment side and participation with government industrial companies and mechanisms to support the private sector and the establishment of small and medium enterprises and investment opportunities available and announced by the Ministry's companies and the subject of protection of local products and research on how and possible support methods for the development of strategic industries in Iraq, Fertilizers, petrochemicals, iron and steel, phosphate, sulfur, cement, food and textile industries, as well as discussing the issue of participation and investment in military industries to establish factories for the production of weapons Winding and ammunition and other files and related topics. "
    According to the statement, "the plan adopted by the ministry in line with the government curriculum and relying on the national development plan prepared by the Ministry of Planning in coordination with the sectors of the state, which focused on participation and investment for industrial companies in the public sector and support the private sector." 
    He explained that "the ministry owns many large companies and factories up to (250) labs in various industrial specialties of food, pharmaceutical, chemical, mechanical, textile, construction, etc. The investment files have been prepared for many of these companies and factories for rehabilitation or development or addition of new production lines to diversify local production as well as the Ministry's projects to establish Cities and industrial complexes in a number of provinces, which need companies and investors and expertise to manage them.
    He stressed the need to draw on the expertise of US and Brazilian companies and the great potential they have in forming partnerships with their Iraqi counterparts to develop existing industries and projects and establish new projects inside Iraq to cover the needs of the local market and export orientation. 
    For their part, the two guests expressed "the willingness and willingness of their country to cooperate and support Iraq to promote the local industrial sector and create job opportunities for Iraqis." They stressed their country's interest in bringing together the Iraqi companies and American and Brazilian companies.
