Human rights accuses the government of evicting one million displaced people
The Independent Human Rights Commission on Sunday accused the Ministry of Displacement and Migration of making false statements about the number of displaced people.
"The number of displaced persons remaining according to the latest statistics of the Commission and civil society organizations amounted to more than two million citizens across the country."
"The government and the Ministry of Displacement and Migration issue inaccurate data on the existence of less than two million internally displaced persons," he said, adding that "the government has failed to perform its duties and provide security and services to displaced families."
Al-Shammari said that "poor services and lack of rehabilitation of infrastructure and non-compensation of families affected by terrorism caused the return of the large number of displaced until the moment."
