MP Hussein Said said on Wednesday that the prime minister and his government plan to change the officials of the independent bodies and departments, which have direct contact with the citizen with regard to the file service, pointing out that the Secretariat of Baghdad, where a lot of cases of extortion by employees and gangs also .
"The corruption exists in the Municipality of Baghdad, and the smallest staff practices these illegal operations, in addition to the gangs that are present during tenders and auctions to extort the applicants," Said said in a statement.
"The parliament will follow up on illegal acts in the municipality of Baghdad in order to deter and eliminate extortion. There will be field moves to the deputies of Baghdad to end extortion cases in the Secretariat and to hold back those who are in default."
"The process of replacing the secretary of Baghdad with another person is up to the prime minister and the parliament will vote on the alternative person, but there is a tendency for the prime minister within his government program to replace all officials in independent bodies that have direct contact with the citizen and the service file."
