The farmers said in an interview that "Iran continues to supply its crops illegally to Iraq and killed Iraq's food basket, and the government instead of lifting the screws on the market in the country agreed with Jordan to import 400 articles exempted and this agreement is a shot of mercy in the head of the farmer."
"For 15 years they have been growing and losing, because of the successive governments' policies that they have called on more than once to stop imports and support domestic products, but they do not hear," they said.
They added that "their crops compete with the importer and able to cover the Iraqi market," calling "the government to deliver their products to the people of Anbar, Mosul and other provinces rather than import from Turkey and Iran."
