(Reuters) - Electricity and gas exports amount to about $ 3.5 billion a year for Iraq, a member of the Expediency Council Ali Agha Mohammadi said on Wednesday.

Agha Mohammadi said in a televised statement today that total exports to Iraq amounted to $ 12 billion, with non-oil goods constituting $ 8.6 billion of this volume, and the rest concerned with the export of energy such as electricity and gas.

He pointed out that the food industry is at the forefront of Iranian goods flowing to Iraq, followed by construction materials and medicines.

Agha Mohammadi noted the possibility of producing Iranian cars in Iraq, calling for the adoption of free trade between the two countries.
