Russia is pushing America to supply liquefied natural gas to Europe

An international report has revealed that Russia has provided the United States over the past year with the supply of liquefied natural gas to the European Union, one of the largest consumers of gas in the world.
Russia's supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Europe in 2018 was 4.4 million tons, compared with 2.7 million tons supplied to European markets from the United States, the data showed.
The data also indicated that the total exports of LNG from Russia came close to the total exports of the United States of this article, where Russia's exports during the last year 18.4 million tons, while the United States sold 20.7 million tons.
The report attributed the growth of Russia's exports of LNG during last year to the launch of the Yamal LNG plant, the first project of its kind in the Arctic of Russia, and is based on the Russian company "Novatik" gas production.
The station is located on the Yamal peninsula about 2,500 km from Moscow in an important region for the production of Russian oil and gas despite its harsh climatic conditions.
Novatech is currently developing a giant project in the far north called Arctic-2 in the Kara Sea.
