- Trade Minister Mohammad Hashim al-Ani on Monday welcomed the signing of a bilateral agreement between Iraq and Palestine to frame economic and trade relations to form a basis for holding joint committees, noting that Iraq witnessed early this year great efforts in economic openness with brotherly and friendly countries.
Al-Ani, who welcomed the visiting Palestinian delegation, stressed the importance of consolidating economic and trade relations between our two brotherly countries. He expressed hope that the meeting would enhance economic relations in all its forms.
He said that "the beginning of this year, Iraq has witnessed great efforts in the economic openness and trade cooperation with friendly and brotherly countries and the fruits of many of the meetings in preparation for the conclusion of economic and trade cooperation agreements between these countries."
"In this regard, we welcome the signing of a bilateral agreement between Iraq and Palestine to frame the economic and trade relations and serve as a basis for the convening of joint committees that will enhance the means of joint cooperation between the two countries," he added.
He expressed the hope that this visit will highlight the private sector and give them a greater role in the process of economic development, both in terms of the establishment of projects and processing and participation in specialized international exhibitions in addition to contributing to investment opportunities, noting that this forum is an opportunity to see your experience in the field of economy and investment In order to achieve the highest levels of mutual cooperation.
He stressed the search for solutions that serve the interests of Iraq and the countries that are party to any bilateral agreement in the future, noting that the coming period will see a new roadmap in the operations of partnerships and investments
He stressed that these issues will be crystallized through activating the joint committees, thanking the gratitude of the State of Palestine, the sister government and people for this communication.
