Qatari banks' assets rise to $ 400 billion by the end of June

Official data showed that the volume of assets of Qatari commercial banks in June rose by 2 percent on a monthly basis to reach the highest level ever.
Bank assets rose to 1.455 trillion rials ($ 400 billion) last month, compared to 1.426 trillion riyals ($ 396.7 billion) in May.
On a year-on-year basis, Qatari banks' assets grew 4.5 percent in June from 1.392 trillion riyals ($ 382.5 billion) in the same month in 2018.
Credit facilities granted by Qatari banks rose 4.5 percent year-on-year at 971.7 billion riyals ($ 267 billion) at the end of last month, compared to 929.7 billion riyals ($ 255.5 billion) a month earlier.
There are 19 banks operating in the Qatari market, including 7 local commercial banks, five Islamic branches and seven foreign branches.
