Hakim: Local elections next important step to consolidate democracy

The head of the stream of wisdom, Ammar al-Hakim, on Monday, to abide by the deadlines for the upcoming local elections.
"During our meeting with the Australian ambassador in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Juan Lundez, we discussed the relations between the two countries and means of developing them in all fields. We also discussed the developments in the political scene in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and the region," Hakim said in a statement .
Hakim added that the opposition adopted by the National Wisdom Movement is a constitutional and legal right aimed at correcting the political process, highlighting the wrong tracks, evaluating government performance and pressure to provide services to citizens.
Hakim stressed that the upcoming local elections represent an important step in the consolidation of democracy in Iraq, calling for adherence to the stated times and the creation of logistics to ensure its success.
