The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said during a conference in Kirkuk that it registered 1,500 missing persons at the provincial level from 2018 to mid-2019, at a time when families of the missing demanded to know the fate of their children.
"The organization set up the conference to clarify and communicate with government bodies, organizations and families of the missing, and to try to collect their families' complete data about them," said Annio Pernos, head of the ICRC sub-delegation.
