BAGHDAD - Mawazine News, the
head of the coalition of law Nuri al-Maliki, Saturday, the existence of attempts to dissolve the Popular Mobilization or merge with the security forces, stressing the need to remain the Popular Mobilization independent and directly linked to the commander-in-chief.
Maliki said in statements published by his media office and seen by (Mawazine News), that: The latter warns of the movements to dissolve the Popular Mobilization or merge with the Iraqi army and police, calling for "the need to organize the Popular Mobilization and check its conditions and control to prevent actions embarrassing the state and citizens."
Al-Maliki stressed the importance of maintaining the PMU independent and directly linked to the commander-in-chief, noting that some parties call for the solution of the PMU, believing that its solution will rid the country of external pressures that do not want the PMU to be a protector of Iraq's sovereignty and unity and face the challenges facing it.
