[rtl]The Supreme Council for Combating Corruption on Friday referred the files of nine senior officials to the judiciary, including ministers, deputy ministers and governors.[/rtl]
[rtl]According to a statement received by the Council, "On the basis of the Prime Minister's directive and in implementation of the letter addressed to the Iraqi people on 9/10/2019, the Supreme Council against Corruption referred a significant number of corruption cases to the judiciary, relating to nine The senior officials, after strengthening the evidence and completing the fundamentalist procedures and the formation of a team to follow up in the Council, and holding coordination meetings with the judiciary in order to give priority and resolve them as soon as possible. "[/rtl]
[rtl]He added that "there are issues" related to the cases referred to two ministers and former undersecretaries in the ministries (industry and minerals, transport, higher education, health) and a former minister-level minister and four former governors in the provinces (Babylon, Kirkuk, Nineveh and Salah al-Din).[/rtl]
[rtl]The council pointed out that "other files will be referred to the judiciary duly to acquit or convict the accused in accordance with the law." [/rtl]
