[size=18]Transport Minister Abdullah Laibi announced on Saturday the entry of 430 trucks to unload commercial cargo and 22 oil tanker trucks to transport oil derivatives in the southern port of Umm Qasr.

"All the berths in Umm Qasr Al-Janoubi are busy unloading cargoes, including raw sugar, rice and maize, as well as two containers, a panton clinker and two oil tankers," he said in a statement received by Alsumaria News.

He added that "the Ministry of Transport is working to strengthen the confidence of government institutions and major companies in Iraqi ports to attract them for the transport of goods and containers through Iraq," pointing out that "any interruption in the work of Iraqi ports will cause a rise in prices, which weighs on the Iraqi citizen and therefore the ministry is working on "The flow of transportation to and from the port continues to serve the public interest."
