A security source reported the assassination of civilian activist Ali Al-Khafaji, with an armed attack in Nasiriyah.
The source said in a press statement, "Unidentified gunmen opened fire towards the civilian activist Ali Al-Khafaji near Alwa Al-Khudhar in Al-Nasiriya, which led to his death on the spot."
The source added, "A security force cordoned off the scene of the accident, and the corpse was transferred to forensic medicine while it opened an investigation into its circumstances."
