A local source said, today, Wednesday, that a civilian activist was assassinated while returning to his home in the Shaab district of Baghdad from Tahrir Square.
The source said in a press statement, "Unidentified gunmen opened fire on a civilian activist before arriving at his house in Al-Shaab area from Al-Tahrir Square in central Baghdad."
He added that "the activist died on the spot and the security forces arrived at the scene of the accident and transferred the martyr to the forensic medicine department and opened an investigation into the accident."
