    Baghdad / Sky Press

Reuters said that the United States and its allies temporarily stopped training Iraqi forces, in a new step, fearing the repercussions of the assassination of Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force, of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

The agency said that the German army said in a letter to German deputies that the American Lieutenant-General Pat White decided to increase the level of protection for the forces deployed in Iraq within the process of solid determination led by the United States of America.

In this letter to the members of the Defense and Foreign Relations Committees, "German Lieutenant General Eich Fiefer, a senior German officer, indicated that" the training of the Iraqi security and armed forces throughout Iraq has been suspended temporarily, "

In the letter dated January 3, Fever added: "The guidance is binding on all partner countries in the process of solid determination at the training sites in Iraq."

Germany has about 120 soldiers stationed in Iraq as part of the US-led Operation Torque Resolve.

The Pentagon announced yesterday that the United States will send about 3,000 additional soldiers to the Middle East from the 82nd Airborne Division as a precautionary measure amid escalating threats to US forces in the region.

The Defense Ministry said in a statement that the Rapid Response Force brigade of the 82nd Airborne Division was being deployed.
