Allawi said in a tweet followed by Alsumaria News, "I called the deputies of the National Alliance in the House of Representatives to continue their work in order to amend the course of the political process and achieve the required reforms."
He added, "We also agreed that Hassan Shwerd should replace me on the council," noting that he is "a person whom everyone attests to competence, integrity and experience in parliamentary work."
And the leader of the National Coalition, Iyad Allawi, announced on the 10th of January, his resignation from the membership of the Iraqi parliament.
