On Thursday, legal expert Ali Al-Tamimi clarified the options that Abdul Mahdi will resort to in the event that the Allawi government does not form or does not gain the confidence of Parliament before the second of next March, which is the period that Abdul Mahdi set to resort to constitutional options in the event that the new government is not formed.
Al-Tamimi said in a statement to "Al-Maalouma", that "the constitutional breach exists from the beginning because the resignation submitted by Abdul-Mahdi had to leave the position and take over the administration of the country, according to Article 81 of the Constitution."
He added that "the caretaker government should last for 30 days only in the case of resignation, and it differs from the dismissal and the transitional stage in which the country is living."
And he stated, "Abdul-Mahdi feels embarrassed and tries to get rid of this deadlock, especially since he should have handed over the tasks to the President of the Republic."
He explained that "Allawi's government, in the event that it does not see the light in the coming days, despite Allawi's call for an extraordinary session, Abdul Mahdi will resort to one of two options, either handing over the tasks to the President of the Republic or resorting to the Federal Court." 25 n ended
