Today, Friday, the Ministry of Oil announced its rejection of statements made by Deputy Alia Nassif, describing it as "misleading and ignorant of the laws," usually declarations that "fall into the category of consumption, misleading, and political blackmail."

The ministry said in a statement that Alsumaria News received, a copy of it, that it rejects MP Alia Nassif ’s statements about the decision to reduce the Ministry of Finance’s share of the profits of oil companies that was approved in the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday 19/2020 under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Oil Minister Thamer Abbas Al-Ghadban.

The Ministry promised these statements that it falls within the category of media consumption and misinformation of citizens, public opinion, and political extortion, as well as ignorance of the laws, directives in force, and powers regulating the work of ministries, including the Ministry of Oil .

The statement said the ministry to be reconsidered in the share of the proportion of the Ministry of Finance owned public companies ' profits of the state (self - financing companies) and companies including the Ministry of Oil is the authority of the Council of Ministers , according to the text of the law (22) for the year (1997) has already been for the Council of Ministers that He took a decision to address this situation that we mentioned, but the legal department in the Cabinet preferred to reformulate the way the Cabinet issuedAnd this decision regulates the process of sharing profits between the oil companies and the Ministry of Finance in the event that the Ministry of Finance is unable to allocate resources to the Ministry of Electricity and the rest of the formations to pay for fuel supplied by the Ministry of Oil .
The Ministry added that the Ministry of Oil companies bear great financial burdens as a result of their responsibility and tasks in providing and filling the shortage of oil derivatives by importing them in hard currency, whose value reached (2.8) billion dollars in 2019, in addition to the Ministry’s commitment to provide fuel for the Ministry of Electricity (stations) Generating electrical energy) as accumulated debts on it, and its inability to pay what it had entrusted to the Ministry of Oil , which totaled more than (15) trillion Iraqi dinars. , Except T , which form a burden on the companies and the Ministry of Oil and caused a fiscal deficit for many of them.

The ministry’s statement continued, saying that at the time the ministry was hoping to settle debts, and that the Ministry of Finance (the Treasury) should bear the costs of imported fuel, whether for citizens ’use or for the benefit of the Ministry of Electricity starting from the 2020 budget, the Ministry of Oil has asked relevant and relevant authorities to address the burden The financial incurred by the companies of the Ministry, the accumulation of debts on the beneficiaries, and the need to find effective remedies and practical solutions, whether through the Ministerial Energy Committee or through the meeting of the preparatory committees responsible for preparing the federal budget for 2020, but their demands were not fulfilled.

The Ministry of Oil pointed out that the failure to take the necessary measures and the delay in this leads to a deficiency in meeting the local need, and that the failure to monitor allocations for the financing and implementation of the Karbala Refinery project, for example, confirms what we mentioned previously, and that the Ministry of Oil’s actions and its need to finance it from the reserves of expansion of some of its companies, This national project saved and led to an increase in the completion rate in it to more than (80) percent. Oil Ministry
