    The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, thanked the Prime Minister, who apologized for his assignment, Muhammad Allawi, while confirming his efforts to find an alternative within the next 15 days.
     
    Saleh said in a statement, "Yes Iraq" received a copy of what he stipulated:
     
    With reference to the statement of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi on his inability to form his government during the specified constitutional period, and based on the provisions of Article 76 of the Constitution, the President of the Republic begins consultations to select an alternative candidate within a period of 15 days within the scope of his constitutional and national responsibilities.
     
    While the President of the Republic thanks Mr. Mohammed Tawfiq Allawi for his efforts and his position by apologizing for the assignment, he calls on the parliamentary forces, to work hard to reach a national agreement on the alternative, acceptable, nationally and popularly, during the specified constitutional period, in order to form a capable government To address its tasks in the light of the huge challenges facing Iraq.
     
    The President of the Republic affirms that the difficult circumstances the country is going through require a national stance that is responsible for all, and that the alternative personality that will be entrusted with the required acceptance, whether on the grassroots or parliamentary level, to form a temporary government that adheres to its duties towards citizens, and is entrusted with the holding of parliamentary elections. early.
    In this regard, the President of the Republic stresses that the security, political and economic repercussions and health challenges facing Iraq, the region and the world make it imperative to expedite the resolution of the interim government file, in order to protect the security and safety of citizens and move towards achieving the reform project as an Iraqi national benefit.
