The "Washington Post" newspaper said that an American contractor was killed during missile attacks on a military base in Iraq, yesterday, Wednesday, according to the Pentagon, which puts the administration of US President Joe Biden in front of a new challenge, days after it launched military action Retaliating in response to another attack.

She added, in a report published today, Thursday: “The Iraqi army indicated that 10“ Grad ”missiles struck the Ain al-Asad air base in the western Anbar region, through which the missile attack was carried out, and the US missile defense system succeeded in intercepting nearly half of the missiles, According to US and Iraqi officials.

“The attack came at a very sensitive time for President Biden and the Iraqi government,” she said. “At a time when these attacks are occurring routinely, and Iranian-backed militias claim responsibility or are blamed, Washington is trying to reduce tensions between the United States and Iran, within The Years of Former President Donald Trump's Presidency ”.

And she continued: “Western officials referred to Biden’s response to the missile attacks that targeted US soldiers in Iraq last week as a meaningful focal point. Although the attacks were the first single military action during Biden’s presidency, Iranian-backed militias were targeted on the border with Syria, not inside Iraq, in a move apparently intended to avoid further escalation.

And she added, “In Baghdad, all officials are preparing in full swing for the arrival of Pope Francis, Pope of the Vatican, to Iraq on Friday, as this visit represents an opportunity for the beleaguered Iraqi government to demonstrate the relative stability in Iraq, in the wake of the defeat of the terrorist organization ISIS.
