    The American "General Electric" company announced, Tuesday (March 30, 2021) that it will offer scholarships to Iraqi students, saying that this step "is consistent in content and objectives with its long-established legacy in Iraq for more than fifty years."
    The CEO of the company in Iraq, Rashid Al-Janabi, said in a statement received by the IQ NEWS website  , "The company continues its serious commitment to enhancing the skills of Iraqi youth by offering scholarships to five students in the BBS educational program that  extends over a period of 10 months," noting that "the program focuses To improve the English language and refine the skills of doing business for the participating students, and to help them prepare for entry into the private sector jobs.
    Al-Janabi added, "This will help establish talented national cadres that contribute to the country's growth and prosperity by enhancing their commercial and strategic acumen within their professional experiences in the future."
    Al-Janabi pointed out that “the educational program covers three main topics during a period of 10 months, including: English language, professional development skills, and the foundations of doing business,” noting that “the first session in the English language concluded its activities on the 15th of last January, to start afterwards. Professional development skills course in February, and it is planned to continue until next April, and then the basics of doing business, which will continue until September of this year, and the last session of the program will include very important topics that include business acumen, financial accounting, and an introduction to the fields of Financial services and marketing, and economic affairs, in addition to mini-courses specializing in specific areas such as financial technology.
    He emphasized that "in light of the company's decades-long practice of its business in Iraq and its long presence in the country, it realizes an urgent need to refine the skills of Iraqi youth and provide them with the information and expertise necessary to join the careers of the private sector in the future. Therefore, the BBS program  offered to students was designed according to demand to meet their aspirations and enhance points. Their strength is in key areas such as professional development and business skills, "noting that" the scholarships that we offer confirm our continued commitment to establishing the next generation of experienced Iraqi professionals and our continuous endeavor to support them in obtaining suitable job opportunities. "
    "The educational lessons will all be offered in a personal presence and virtually under the supervision and direction of a faculty that includes an elite of professional professionals who have long experience working with Iraqi students and the private sector, and successful students in the program will have job opportunities with many companies as trainees," he said.
    For her part, said Christine van den Thorn, President of the Iraq Fund for Higher Education, which is a "non-profit institution" that manages the BBS program  , according to the statement, "We aim to enable university graduates in Iraq to work for the private sector, so this educational curriculum is a product. He worked diligently over many years to fill the skills gap among Iraqi students, and how to qualify them to enter productive professions. The program specifically designed for the Iraqi market helps to address the problem of student unemployment and establishes talented human cadres in the private sector.
    She added, "There is no doubt that the (General Electric) support will enrich the benefits provided to students participating in the educational program and help them establish a successful career."
