    The Ministry of Education estimated the actual need to cover the expenses of the financial grant for pupils and students at 2 trillion dinars, noting that the allocation of these amounts is subject to the general financial situation of the country.
     The official spokesman for the ministry, Karim Al-Sayed, told Al-Sabah: "The scholarship for pupils and students was approved based on previous legislation," noting that "there is a parliamentary movement regarding the possibility of allocating funds for this aspect in the event of financial abundance."
     Al-Sayed explained that "the actual need for allocations for this scholarship is estimated at 2 trillion dinars, if we know that there are more than 13 million students and students throughout Iraq."
    He added, "The Ministry of Education is with this endeavor, but the approval of these amounts is subject to the general financial situation in the country, despite the priorities of the Ministry," pointing out that "this grant, since its approval years ago, has not been included in the budget that is subject to review and estimates by the authorities." concerned, such as the government represented by the Ministry of Finance and the House of Representatives.
    The official spokesman for the Ministry of Education stressed, "The need for the grant to be passed through a group of constitutional channels related to budget legislation."
    The House of Representatives had approved the grant law for government school students in late 2013, effective from the date of 1/10/2014, and included the disbursement of a monthly financial grant to pupils and students in primary, intermediate and preparatory schools, and schools affiliated to the Offices of Endowments and Religious Affairs.
