Gold prices rose, during trading on Thursday, as a decline in US Treasury bond yields offset the pressure caused by the rise of the dollar.

Spot gold rose 0.2 percent to $ 1789.22 an ounce, by 05:09 GMT, while US gold futures rose 0.2 percent to $ 1788.20 an ounce.

"The US Federal Reserve keeps pushing here. It's good for gold because it keeps yields low. I think this will ultimately lead to the weakening of the US dollar," said Stephen Ennis, managing partner at SBI Asset Management.

And the US Treasury record yields for ten years hovered near the bottom of a week, which they reached on Tuesday, which reduces the opportunity cost of owning gold that does not yield a return.

Meanwhile, the dollar index hovered near its two-week high it reached on Wednesday.

As for other precious metals, palladium rose 0.1 percent to $ 2,975.18 an ounce, after hitting an all-time high of $ 3017.18 an ounce on Tuesday, backed by a supply shortage.

With regard to other precious metals, silver settled at $ 26.49 an ounce, while platinum fell 0.5 percent to $ 1218.81 an ounce.
