The Parliamentary Services Committee submitted the law of slums and roads to the Presidency of Parliament, to include them on the agenda for voting on them, amid parliamentary demands to prevent the leveling of agricultural lands and orchards.
The committee member said Abbas Alattafa, he conducted the second amendment to the law of roads in the paragraphs of "8, 10 and 14" to give some powers to the Ministry of Housing for the work of specialized and international routes, as well as investment approaches to set up gas stations, restaurants, etc. and be imports for the maintenance of the road. "

In return, the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Marshlands and Water called on the government to take strict legal measures against bulldozing orchards and agricultural lands and converting them into residential lands outside the controls, while it embarked on finalizing the law on agricultural lands and orchards, and it will be presented to Parliament in the next sessions.
Committee member Jamal Fakher Al-Shibli said, "The committee is studying the final version of the law to prevent the bulldozing and deterioration of agriculture in Iraq and end the phenomenon of building informal housing complexes on them, without prior planning and within the legal rules and regulations and urban design of cities."
Al-Shibli stressed that "it is wrong for the gender of agricultural land to turn into residential, which squanders agricultural wealth and turns the country into desertification," noting that "agricultural lands in Iraq have an area of 60%, and agricultural production is no less important than oil."
He called on the government to form an operations room to take legal measures against those who bulldoze agricultural lands and return them to their previous condition.
