Anbar launches hundreds of billions of projects

The director of the Desert Oases Project in Anbar Governorate, Sami Hussein Ali, revealed that there is a plan to multiply high-oil olives and grow cucumbers and pistachios in the Anbar desert.
Ali said in a press interview, "The project works to multiply olives because of its great economic benefit, as one ton of this variety is sold for 150,000 dinars, while if it is invested through squeezing and producing oil from it, its value will be around one million and 500 thousand dinars." .
He added that "among the plan is to plant the cucumber crop in the desert using organic fertilizers and cooling, as well as to multiply the pistachio product, as about a thousand seedlings were planted for cultivation in the 45th area in January of next year in the oases."
Ali stated that "the project, which is within the Department of Forests and Combating Desertification, began years ago to establish 28 oases in Anbar, ranging in size from 200 to 300 dunums, in addition to the presence of four nurseries distributed in modern, its and the existing districts, and the production capacity of the project amounts to 600 thousand seedlings annually." "It was preparing the project only, in addition to digging wells to serve the shepherds, which became sources of water close to them, after they had traveled about 50 kilometers to water their animals."
