The Council of Ministers voted in its regular session today, Tuesday (June 15, 2021), to open export "unconditionally" and to reconsider the customs tariff.

Council spokesman Hassan Nazim said in a press conference, followed by IQ News, that "the Cabinet voted in its session today to open export without restriction or condition and to reconsider the customs tariff, and also voted to expand the production of the Nasiriyah oil field with a capacity of 100,000 barrels," stressing that "The government is proceeding with the completion of all the lagging projects in Dhi Qar."

He added, "The Council authorized the Minister of Commerce to pay a payment of the farmers' dues for the current year," noting that "Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi directed the need not to allow manipulation of water quotas to harm agriculture."

Nazim added that "there is a keenness and accuracy in increasing the diversity of the food basket and directing it to the poor."

The Cabinet spokesman stressed that "the government supports the elections and does not allow ministries to be used for electoral purposes."
