MP for the province of Basra, Faleh al-Khazali, on Wednesday, the Prime Minister re-consideration of the subject of customs tariff and certificate of origin, as confirmed by causing the loss of the state billions and stop the movement of the ports of Basra.
"The central government bears responsibility for the loss of the southern ports that have been suspended for more than ten days with a government silence that does not coincide with Iraq's need to maximize state revenues," Khazali said in a statement received by Mawazine News.
He stressed that "the cessation of movement in the ports of Basra, losing billions of Iraqi daily, which is half of its revenues to Basra because of customs tariff and certificate of origin," pointing out that "the intended of these measures to turn the commercial traffic to the north and the port of Aqaba at the expense of Basra and its people.
He called on the Prime Minister to "intervene directly to resolve the outstanding problems and resolve, because more than 1200 trucks a day is suspended from movement in the ports of Basra because of government actions not studied and a negative message to the private sector."
