    At the beginning of next month, the Ministry of Commerce will distribute food baskets among citizens, which will include seven food items, after completing the technical and legal procedures for the project.
    The ration card has suffered for several years from poor quality, reluctance and delay in distributing its vocabulary, despite the promises made by successive ministers of commerce regarding the development of programs that guarantee the speed of arrival of its items, or the adoption of solid sources for its supply, especially since entire societal segments mainly depend on it.
    The official spokesman for the ministry, Muhammad Hanoun, said in an interview with the newspaper "Al-Sabah" and followed by "Economy News", that "the ministry has completed the rehabilitation of stores for foodstuffs to be prepared for citizens in Baghdad and the provinces in support of the food basket project, which includes seven items of the ration card."
    On the fourth of last month, the Council of Ministers approved the proposals of the Ministry of Commerce, which were submitted to it on the ninth of last February, to prepare a food basket that includes seven items to be distributed among citizens. According to the best offers made.  
    Hanoun added, "The project aims to reform the ration card system," noting that "the processing mechanisms have witnessed stability after providing financial allocations, in addition to the support provided by the ministries of oil and finance for the success of the project," stressing that "all quantities that will be prepared for citizens, will be tested in a laboratory. ".
