The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, hosted a lunch in honor of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and King Abdullah II of Jordan, while noting the great support the visit represents to Iraq and its people.
During the banquet, which was attended by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi and the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zeidan, the President of the Republic stressed that it is an "important occasion that we meet as Iraqis to celebrate the two dear guests of Iraq, President Sisi and King Abdullah," noting "the importance of the relations that bind the two countries." The three and the efforts made to strengthen and consolidate them for the benefit of our peoples and the entire region.
Saleh said that the Iraqi-Egyptian-Jordanian cooperation represents an important turning point in the region, which has been beset by tensions, crises and conflicts for long periods, in order to move towards establishing security, stability and economic cooperation and to rely on dialogue and convergence in solving problems in response to the common challenges facing everyone in combating terrorism and extremism, and strengthening partnerships economic, commercial and employment opportunities for our peoples.
The President stressed the importance of enhancing the level of coordination between the three countries and benefiting from geographical interdependence in developing broader horizons of cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and development, and establishing infrastructure, energy and oil projects, as well as continuing efforts to confront existing challenges in the fight against terrorism and extremism, and the repercussions of the Corona epidemic. and climate change and environmental protection, and it was also stressed the need to continue meeting regularly to coordinate positions and enhance tripartite cooperation.
He stressed that a secure, stable and sovereign Iraq and its relations with its Arab brothers and its Islamic neighbourhood, and restoring its pivotal role is an important element in consolidating security, stability and development in the whole region, pointing to the necessity of joint tripartite coordination in easing tensions, enhancing regional stability and finding solutions to current crises.
