The Ministry of Water Resources announced its latest discussions with Iran regarding the water quota, and the most prominent obstacle regarding the agreement .
The technical advisor to the ministry, Aoun Diab, said in a statement that the talks with Iran did not take place because of the formation of the Iranian government and then the elections in Iraq.
Diab indicated that the Ministry of Water Resources submitted a memorandum and an official letter to the higher authorities in the Council of Ministers, the President's Office, the Speaker's Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to file a case in the International Court in The Hague to establish Iraq's water rights with Iran.
