    [rtl]Baghdad-Iraq today:[/rtl]
[rtl]The Minister of Water Resources, Aoun Diab, confirmed receiving positive Iranian signals in the file of water management and efforts to treat salts in the Shatt al-Arab, and while revealing a move to establish joint dams between Iraq and Iran, he pointed out that the recent rains contributed to finding a good position in water storage.[/rtl]
[rtl]Dhiab said in a press statement, "Iran has shown positive cooperation with Iraq in managing the water file, as we called for cooperation in establishing metering stations on common rivers and establishing dams on rivers whose basins may enter Iranian territory."[/rtl]
[rtl]He added, "The Iranian side's responses were positive regarding these ideas that were put forward during our meeting with the Iranian energy minister responsible for the water file," noting that "we proposed to the Iranian side the possibility of establishing a joint dam to prevent the salt tide in the Gulf."[/rtl]
[rtl]He pointed out, "We have recently indicated a decrease in two-thirds of the salts in the Karun estuary in the Shatt al-Arab," noting that "this decrease is evidence of the presence of water releases from the Iranian side in the Shatt al-Arab.”[/rtl]
[rtl]He continued, "The Iranian side understands about preserving the Shatt al-Arab environment and is taking positive measures in this regard."[/rtl]
[rtl]Regarding the quantities of water in the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in some southern regions of the country, he stressed that "the recent rains that the country witnessed had a positive impact, as it was sufficient to provide complete irrigation of agricultural crops in some areas. "[/rtl]
[rtl]And he continued, "The heavy rains witnessed by the Sulaymaniyah Governorate achieved clear revenues in the Dokan Dam and the Upper Zab and contributed to increasing the water reserves," stressing, "The drought crisis in Maysan has been dealt with, and the problems in the rest of the regions will be addressed, respectively.” [/rtl]
[rtl]And he added, "The water imports that reached the Tigris River from the Upper and Lower Zab will be released to the south of the Samarra Dam to secure the citizens' needs."[/rtl]
[rtl]He pointed out, "The ministry has taken action to reduce water releases from the Mosul Dam because there are no other dams that control the quantities released and to preserve the water storage of the Dam," expecting that "the country will be exposed to other depressions during the next week, which may achieve good levels of water for strategic storage.” ".[/rtl]
