    {Economic: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has filed lawsuits against some private sector companies that worked to forcibly lay off workers without giving them their rights.
    The director of the Department of Labor and Vocational Training in the ministry, Raed Jabbar Bahed, said in a press statement that "all workers in the private sector have the right to file complaints about their wages and fees."
    He pointed out that "cases of forced lay-offs of workers were recently recorded in Baghdad and the provinces without giving them their rights by the companies."
    Bahed added that "the past two years have witnessed, as a result of the conditions of the Corona pandemic, the layoffs of a large number of private sector workers, which caused an increase in the number of unemployed, which prompted the ministry to file lawsuits against some companies for the purpose of guaranteeing workers' rights."
    He said he "was activated labor inspection department to carry out inspections at various levels campaigns to increase coverage of workers in the workplace social security and the elimination of all forms of discrimination and forced labor, and combating the worst forms of labor for child laborers, forced layoffs."
    And that "the number of workers covered by social security reached more than 600 thousand workers," adding that "the ministry in coordination with the ILO has implemented a program to provide the necessary support for vocational training and employment through intensive employment programs in selected areas of Iraq to meet the ambition and serves the market The work will be supplemented with skilled labor by raising the professional capabilities and capabilities in line with the current conditions, and the selection of workers will be one of the ministry’s data bases.”
