After a week-long hiatus, the exchange process resumed at a border crossing between Kurdistan Region and Iran
Shafaq News/ The administration of the "Bruizkhan" international border crossing announced on Tuesday the resumption of the trade exchange process with the Iranian side after a week-long hiatus due to truck drivers' protests in front of the crossing in Kurdistan Region.
The administration said in a statement today that it had informed the merchants in Iran and the Kurdistan Region to stop exporting to Iraq for a week after the truck drivers' strike in front of the crossing.
According to the statement, it was decided, as of today, Tuesday, 11-2-2021, to resume commercial activity and the export process from the crossing.
In turn, the administration of the Garmian region in the Kurdistan Region has sympathized with the demands of the protesters, including traders and bus drivers, at the "Pervez Khan" international crossing.
A statement by the Garmian administration received by Shafaq News Agency, confirmed that the supervisor of the area, Jalal Sheikh Nuri, met with representatives of the protesting merchants and truck drivers at the Parviz Khan border port between Iran and Garmian administration, in the presence of representatives of the relevant government departments, where the protesters' representatives put forward their demands to Garmian administration in order to solve those the problems.
Garmian's administration, during its statement, made it clear that its supervisor confirmed that it is with the solution and end of all the problems that concern the merchants and drivers at the Pervez Khan port, indicating that Garmian's administration is in continuous communication with the relevant authorities in the Ministry of Finance in the region.
The statement added that the Garmian administration will form a committee of the concerned parties to discuss all the demands made by the representatives of the protesters at the Pervez Khan port, and to determine solutions as soon as possible.
