, Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein received the French Ambassador to Iraq Eric Chevalier, and the two sides discussed cooperation in the fields of economy and the repercussions of climate change, while they discussed the file of Iraqi immigrants on the Belarusian and Polish borders.
A statement by the ministry, of which Al-Nour News received a copy, stated that "during the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to enhance prospects for cooperation in all fields in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two peoples, the two countries and the entire region, in addition to developing economic and commercial cooperation and joint action in facing the challenges of terrorism. combating corruption and recovering funds, protecting the environment and confronting climate change.”
He added, "The developments in the region of common interest were discussed, as the importance of easing tensions and relying on dialogue in resolving outstanding issues in order to establish peace in the region and related to the security and stability of Iraq and the return of its pivotal role was emphasized."
The statement continued, "They also discussed the file of Iraqi migrants stranded on the Belarusian and Polish borders," while the minister confirmed that "the Iraqi government has taken actual steps to return citizens wishing to return to Iraq, and there is a possibility to open a flight route from Baghdad or Erbil to Beirut and then to Minsk."
