    Yes Iraq: Baghdad

Economists agree that the government's move to solve the housing crisis has further aggravated it by launching loans and investment housing complexes, which seem to have been designed not to solve the housing crisis, but for commercial reasons.
And in the way of malls, the investment of the owners of the money has become focused on building investment complexes, which everyone agrees are expensive, and it is not possible for those who suffer from a housing crisis to provide money to pay these complexes, especially those located within the capital, Baghdad, and not on its outskirts.
This step, in addition to the launch of housing loans, caused an increase in the demand for homes and housing, which led to a further rise in housing prices, a strange step considered by economic experts, as the government, instead of building new cities due to the large number of people, released money as loans. For citizens to buy houses with limited numbers located within the same cities, which led to an increase in demand compared to supply, which led to an increase in prices.
Economist Saleh Al-Hamash says that “successive governments did not develop a real study to address the housing crisis and believed that solving the housing crisis with money, and this is not true, but rather solving the problem by allocating plots of land or building new cities and providing cities with roads and transportation,” indicating, that “population densities They were concentrated in certain cities and regions, and in Baghdad, they receded in the heart of the capital, which led to the encroachment on agricultural areas.”
He pointed out that “the housing crisis in Iraq is mainly caused by the lack of a real plan to establish new cities and link them to transportation methods, and on the other hand, the lack of a population census, and it is clear, the lack of real economic growth for service projects in the outskirts, so the population density declined within the cities and did not expand.” He explained, "The state's failure to determine population growth made the country the highest growth in the region, reaching 3.8, and this leads to a population explosion. It is expected that the number of Iraqis will be 55 million in 2030, and this number, with the services and the situation remaining as it is, creates a crisis." Therefore, we need to determine childbearing, build cities, distribute wealth correctly, and connect cities with a transportation network to facilitate the movement.”
