head of the Parliamentary Rights Bloc, Hussein Hashem Al-Amiri, renewed his calls to the next government on Monday to demand justice for the central and southern governorates and to include their rights in the 2022 budget.
Al-Amiri said in a statement received by "The Information", a copy of it, that "the central and southern governorates have suffered for years from poverty, deprivation, neglect and poor services by successive governments and did not take their share of care and attention, despite the fact that they constitute a huge economic wealth for Iraq due to the wealth it contains. It is a natural thing that has not been properly exploited or invested, and it is considered as the news basket of Iraq and the pillar of the general budget.”
Al-Amiri stressed, “the need for the next government and the new parliament to take into account the demands of the people of the central and southern governorates and to place them among the priorities of the next government action, and that justice, fairness and equality be present between them and the governorates of the Kurdistan region, especially with regard to their share of the general budget and saving them from suffering from poor services and the absence of services.” Infrastructure projects, especially the flooding of most of their areas during the rains.”
