    Today, Sunday, the European Union presented proposals regarding the elections in Iraq, suggesting the reasons for its delay to the formation of the government.
    The head of the European Union Election Monitoring Mission in Iraq, Viola von Kramon, said during a press conference that "the electoral violence and defamation that some female candidates were subjected to must be condemned and resolved in accordance with the legal frameworks," noting that "there is a whole chapter of proposals regarding violence against female candidates who faced many problems".
    Karamon added, "The mission's role is to present proposals, not to interfere and get involved in those problems," expressing her "happiness that the contestants accepted the final results of the elections and the victory of 97 women and more than the required quota."
    As for the proposals, Iraqi officials must take into consideration, according to Karamon, who pointed out that “the mission monitored the work of the commission and held meetings and exchanged ideas, in addition to talking with representatives of civil society as well as companies to provide support to the Electoral Commission for the safety of the electoral process and not to be fraudulent in The election".
    And she added, "The partners who worked with the Commission confirmed that their work was good." She explained that "the election monitoring mission proposes that Iraq abide by all the determinants and remove them from the elections, including age, in addition to the existence of specific laws that stipulate resolving disputes that affect the elections when the results are published."
    And Karamon indicated that “the Union proposes to submit invitations to support electoral campaigns and to have complete oversight over all political classes and not to criminalize the freedoms stipulated internationally, in addition to the existence of a law to ensure data and not violate it via the Internet, and that the electoral process was transparent, and whoever had a complaint, file appeals Possible reasons for the “delay in submitting the election report to the formation of the government.”
    And she stressed, "A meeting will be held for the mission with some politicians for the sake of proposals, and this is the last stage of the mission's activities, and it is the final step and the first step to support the Iraqi authorities to implement the proposals."
