Turkey is witnessing a remarkable rise in the number of properties sold, and the Iraqis are the second most buying people
Shafaq News/ The Turkish Statistics Authority announced, on Tuesday, that Iraqis ranked second as the most people buying real estate in Turkey during the month of February.
In a report seen by Shafak News Agency, the authority said, "House sales in Turkey to foreigners increased by 54.9% in February 2022 compared to the same month of the previous year and became 4,591 homes. Istanbul got the highest share with 1,958 homes, and Antalya ranked The second with sales of one thousand and 99 houses, then Ankara with 288 houses.
And she added, "Turkey sold during two months of the current year 2022, which are January and February, 8 thousand and 777 houses to foreigners, an increase of 55.6% over the same period of the previous year."
And she pointed out that "the Iranians topped the rest of the countries in buying real estate in Turkey during February, with a number of 711 houses." Iraq came in second place, buying 633 houses, and Russia came third with a number of 509 houses, Kazakhstan fourth with 197 houses, and Germany fifth with 169 houses.
Iraqis have been at the top of the list of home purchases in Turkey since 2015, but it has fallen to second place after Iran at the beginning of the year 2021, while Turkish Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu announced on November 13, 2020, that more than 114,000 Iraqis are present on the territory of his country.
