The Ministry of Planning clarified, today, Monday, the stages and requirements for implementing the general population census process, while indicating that 125,000 enumerators will participate in its implementation.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Planning, Abdul-Zahra Al-Hindawi, said that "the ministry's preparations continue to implement the general population census," stressing that "when the conditions and requirements for conducting the census are available, the ministry will announce the date of implementation."
Al-Hindawi added, "The ministry has started its preparations by conducting field trials in a number of governorates, with two trials in the capital, Baghdad, and five in the governorates of Basra, Anbar, Holy Karbala, Erbil and Dohuk, with the aim of identifying the electronic challenges to implementing the census."
He pointed out that "there is work being done now regarding the completion of the administrative requirements and procedures, and in the coming days, field visits will be made to the camps for the displaced in Mosul and the Kurdistan region to establish a specific mechanism for conducting the census in the camps for the displaced."
He stressed, "Implementing the census requires completing basic requirements and stages that precede the process of its implementation, including the implementation of the pilot census in all governorates, the provision of tablets with which the census will be carried out, and the training of enumerators, who number up to 125,000 counters, who will participate in its implementation." "The enumerators need training and qualification within intensive training courses."
He continued: "We also need to establish a specialized electronic data center equipped with the latest technologies and electronic devices, in addition to securing the requirements for network coverage for all regions of Iraq and ensuring this coverage so that data is sent directly from the field to the National Center for Data Processing, as well as conducting the numbering and inventory process that precedes the census. directly and lasts for about two months, after which the population census will be carried out.” Ended 29 / h
