Global gold prices fell on Monday, with the dollar and US bond yields rising after strong jobs data raised expectations of a sharp interest rate hike.
And the price of gold fell in spot transactions at $ 1921.43 an ounce by 05:02 GMT, while the US gold futures fell $3.60 to $ 1920.50.
The dollar rose strongly at the beginning of the week after the US Treasury yields rose with the expectation of raising interest rates quickly, and the rise in the dollar makes gold less attractive to other currency holders, while the rise in bond yields increases the opportunity cost of holding gold.
The price of silver in spot transactions rose 0.1% to $24.63 an ounce, platinum fell 0.1% to $984.67 and palladium rose 2.2% to $2,326.18. Ended 29/p92
