, the Investigation Department of the Integrity Commission revealed, on Thursday, the results of its follow-up to cases of abuse and seizure of state lands in Nineveh, noting that it continues to uncover all cases of abuse, arrest the accused and bring them to court.
In a statement received by Mawazine News, the department said, "The Nineveh Investigation Directorate carried out, in this context, three seizure operations, based on judicial notes, which resulted in the seizure of over 370 dunums of land owned by the Ministry of Finance," pointing out that " The overrun was carried out by housing associations and individuals in the governorate.
And she added, "The field team in the Nineveh Investigation Directorate, during the first operation, seized the priorities of the Nineveh Governorate Affiliates' Housing Association, for having cut down and sold 52 dunums of state-owned land in violation of the law," noting that "the estimated value of it is (12,000,000,000). billion dinars.
She explained, "During the second operation, pictures of restrictions were seized (283) dunums of agricultural land that had been seized by the Al-Hadbaa Cooperative Housing Society, indicating that "426 plots of land were cut and sold to citizens without obtaining fundamentalist approvals."
The department confirmed, "a third operation was carried out, during which (3) defendants were arrested, for trespassing on agricultural lands owned by the state, dividing them and selling them in violation of the law," explaining that "the area of the land that was bypassed amounted to (35) dunums, and its estimated value is (2,500,000,000) billion." And the circuit indicated, "the organization of fundamentalist arrest reports, and presented, with the accused, to the judge of the Nineveh Investigation Court, which is specialized in integrity issues, who decided to arrest the accused and conduct the investigation, in accordance with the provisions of Article (340) of the Penal Code."
