    Committees of the House of Representatives recently succeeded in electing five new presidents, while the presidency of five others was entrusted to the oldest members temporarily.
    A statement from the First Deputy Parliament, Hakim Al-Zamili, stated that “the parliamentary committees have already begun to carry out their legislative and oversight tasks,” noting that Al-Zamili chaired the inaugural meetings of the committees of martyrs, victims, and political prisoners, security and defense, oil, gas and natural resources, human rights, investment and development, to choose the heads of age and their deputies.     Al-Zamili attended, according to the statement, the opening session of the Investment and Development Committee, for which Representative Vian Abdel Aziz was chosen as its head, noting that the committee will undertake a lot during the next stage, and the need to reorganize, correct and monitor the investment process, encourage investors and create an attractive environment for them.
    The First Deputy called on the Committee of Martyrs, Victims and Political Prisoners, in which Representative Ahmed Al-Jubouri was chosen as head of the age, to “take into account the privacy enjoyed by this committee and its care for the highest segments of society, in addition to resolving the files related to mass graves.” He also urged the Human Rights Committee headed by Representative Arshad. Al-Salihi, as its head of the age, to “accelerate the resolution of the nomination of new members to the Commission for Human Rights, and pay attention to the implementation of laws that sponsor and support the requirements of the Iraqis.”
