    Yes Iraq: Baghdad

The Ministry of Planning revealed its efforts to own more than half a million slum housing units, considering that the law will prevent the emergence of new slums.

Ministry spokesman Abdul-Zahra Al-Hindawi said that "there are about 3,600 slums in which there are 522,000 housing units, inhabited by about 3,400,000 people across the country."

Al-Hindawi added, "The ministry worked on the law of slum ownership in cooperation with international organizations," noting that "the law, when approved, will not allow the emergence of any new slums."

He pointed out, "The law includes the issuance of the Law of the Random Housing Fund, which will be financed from 3 sources, which are the wages that are taken from the occupants of the slums, the budget, and donations that come from international organizations," stressing, that "Iraq needs 3 million housing units, at a rate of 200,000." unit annually.

Regarding the job number project, Al-Hindawi said that “3 million and 200 thousand employees were registered in the job number project,” stressing that “the project completion rate reached 96%.”
