    The Information/Baghdad..
The head of the Antiquities and Heritage Authority, Laith Majid, accused, on Wednesday, the US army of sabotaging the archaeological sites, especially in Babylon, indicating that Iraq is facing difficulty in recovering the antiquities that were banned from Nineveh and fled abroad.

. Majid said in a televised interview, “We are facing difficulty in recovering the antiquities that were expelled from Nineveh and fled abroad, and that the terrorist organization ISIS dug tunnels inside the archaeological sites to extract and sell antiquities.” .
He added, "Many archaeological sites in Babylon were destroyed by American tanks - and we are currently treating them, and more than 15,000 archaeological sites have been registered throughout Iraq."
Majeed pointed out that "a British person was tried in Iraq who tried to smuggle a number of antiquities, and the security forces arrested an Australian person at Baghdad airport who also tried to smuggle antiquities." finished/25 d
