The Iraqi president urges to facilitate the voluntary return of Iraqi migrants
Shafaq News/ The President of the Republic, Dr. Barham Salih, met today, Wednesday, at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, the Deputy Director-General of the International Organization for Migration Oguchi Daniels.
The Presidency of the Republic stated in a statement that Saleh stressed the need to enhance cooperation between Iraq and the International Organization for Migration, and work on plans and strategies to combat extremist ideology, noting that Iraq had suffered greatly from terrorism, which led to large internal and external waves of displacement.
He stressed facilitating the voluntary return of migrants while respecting international law that guarantees human rights and their options, and ensuring the return of normal life to their areas.
For her part, Oguchi Daniels affirmed the support of the International Organization for Migration to Iraq in the migration file, and support for its joining the Council of Member States of the organization to be effective and effective.
