Shafaq News/ "Total Croatia News" news website revealed today, Saturday, that the leading Croatian "Konchar" company in the field of energy has signed a contract with the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity worth 65 million euros, with the aim of rehabilitating the Al-Haditha hydropower plant, while the company described the contract as "" The most important projects in its history.
The Croatian website said, in a report translated by Shafak News Agency, that "the leading Croatian company in the field of energy, Konchar, signed a contract with Iraq worth 65 million euros, with the aim of rehabilitating the Al-Haditha hydropower plant."
According to the Croatian website, "the contract was signed with the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity," noting that "the modern station is considered one of the most important projects of the Croatian company in its history, and it was the Iraqi station that was built in the first half of the eighties of the last century."
The report stated that "many companies affiliated with the Konchar Group will participate in completing this project with Iraq, as part of the contract terms, provided that they re-modern the production units and replace part of the equipment, plant management systems and electrical protection systems, in addition to renewing the mechanical sub-systems and equipment Hydromechanical".
And the report continued, "After a decade, negotiations continued with the Iraqi authorities, and a new round of negotiations was held that lasted 18 months within a new political environment, and Konchar Group was able to take an additional historical step in the demanding global market, by signing this contract for the Iraqi hydroelectric power station. ".
The report stated, "The Croatian company has concluded, during the past ten years, several smaller contracts, including the supply of equipment and spare parts for this power plant located on the Euphrates River, as well as for other stations," noting that "the new deal reflects an important return to the Iraqi market, and the role of a group Konchar is one of the most important local exporters to the global market.
The report quoted Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Conchar" Jordan Colack as saying that "the deal is the end result of many years of negotiations."
The report pointed out the presence of a local Iraqi partner, where Al Rashak and other companies within the "Conchar Group" will participate in the implementation of the project.
The report stated that "the company has already completed, over the course of seven decades, about 400 hydroelectric power stations in more than 50 countries around the world."
