The Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, signed, on Monday, with the commander of the NATO mission, General Giovanni M. Inochi Memorandum of Understanding.

A statement by the ministry stated, "In order to support and develop the logistical system of the Iraqi armed forces and build their capabilities at all levels, the Army Chief of Staff signed a joint memorandum of understanding, with NATO, regarding the coding system (NCS)."
He added, "The memorandum of understanding was signed in the presence of the Senior Secretary of the Army Staff, the assistants of the Chief of Staff of the Army (Operations - Administration - Training), the General Military Inspector and Director of the Legal Department of the Ministry of Defense and commanders of weapons (land - air - navy - army aviation - air defense)." The President of the Defense University for Military Studies, the President of the Military Academy, the Head of the Combat Readiness Authority, the Secretary of the Meera Department and the Directors of the Directorates.
He explained, "This (medium-term) memorandum works on perpetuating cooperation between the two sides and catching up with the countries under its umbrella to supply the military institution with advanced technology that raises the capabilities of the army and combat readiness at all levels."
And he continued, "This event did not occur simultaneously, but was preceded by not short stages, but rather a year that included continuous meetings and meetings, amid the efforts and follow-up of the Chief of Staff of the Army and his specialized team, who provided all support to the departments concerned in the success of the agreement with NATO, which received attention from the highest levels and discussed it." At the National Security Advisory, he pointed out that “the memorandum was approved and presented before the eyes of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and his approval was obtained and the concerned authorities were authorized to sign.”
