    The Federal Ministry of Planning intends to launch the anti-poverty strategy at the end of the first quarter of next year.

    Director General of Strategy in the Ministry, Sabah Jundi Mansour, said, "It is not possible to determine the random increase or decrease in the poverty rate without relying on accurate and realistic surveys," noting that "work is underway to prepare a poverty strategy to find out the exact ratios that would facilitate the work of the concerned authorities." in the state to take the necessary measures.

    He added that "in conjunction with the preparation of the strategy, we began preparing the economic and social survey of the family, which stands for the real poverty rates at the level of the governorates and their affiliated districts, pointing out that during the next three months, preliminary indicators will appear in this regard."

    And Mansour indicated that "the surveys conducted by the Central Statistical Organization to determine the poverty rate are based on taking a random sample from all districts and sub-districts in the governorates to fill out a pre-prepared form that includes many questions about the living situation, income, nutrition, and others, to come up with accurate results and reach the real poverty rate in the country." .

    And he added, "When determining the percentage of poverty, the conditions of the Iraqi market are taken into account, from the rise and fall in the prices of materials in general and compared to the income of the individual," noting that "according to the latest poverty strategy in 2018, the poverty rate reached 20 percent."
